چکیده

The present research aims to know the regeneration status of community managed Shorea robusta (Sal) forests; for 6-21 years in Tanahun district, a part Gandaki Province, Nepal. These forests were categorized into two groups according management duration (more than 10 and equal or less yrs). forest was estimated by calculating density each species developmental phase (seedling, sapling tree). total tree more (MCF forest; 1230 plants/ha) (LCF 1314 plants/ha). results suggest that size class distribution trees resembling inverse-J shaped indicates good regenerating capability both forests. After handover community, Sal had increased rapidly Community significant positive impact on forest, thus, productivity forest. Thus, study has important implications conservation natural

Ascorbic acid metabolism in ageing recalcitrant sal (Shorea robusta Gaertn. f.) seeds.

Changes in ascorbate content and its enzymatic utilization pattern were studied in embryonic axes and cotyledons of sal seeds undergoing rapid loss of viability, at ambient conditions. Ascorbate levels were significantly higher initially in the embryonic axes (0.32 mg/g fresh weight) and cotyledons (0.21 mg/g fresh weight) of freshly mature, relatively hydrated (42.2% moisture content) and 100%...

Wound healing activity of ethanolic extract of Shorea robusta Gaertn. f. resin.

The ethanolic extract of S. robusta resin (10 and 30 % w/w applied locally in excised and incised wounds) produced a dose-dependent acceleration in wound contraction and increased hydroxyproline content and tensile strength of wounds in rats. The results demonstrate wound healing activity of ethanolic extract of S. robusta resin.
